kotlinx.atomicfu

The kotlinx.atomicfu pack provides atomic reference and primitive holders. klio runs real worker threads (kotlin.concurrent.thread, Dispatchers.Default/IO), so every operation is genuinely atomic: each binding performs its read-modify-write under a single exclusive borrow of the receiver's cell, so concurrent workers never observe a torn or interleaved update. kotlinx.atomicfu.locks ships real locks backed by the same per-object reentrant monitor as kotlin.synchronized. Explicit memory fences remain no-ops because every atomic operation is already sequentially consistent through the cell's lock.
